B.T.L.

A haze of white blurs my vision
I struggle with no avail against it
I awake inside a glass cage with a small steel ceiling
hand-poked holes bestow the gift of breathing

I violated life’s one rule
I do not get to come back
A new lifestyle is enveloping me
I embrace the comfort
despite dangerous velocity

Reveled in my charms
Recoiled at their effects
Finding out the things I could have set in motion
inspired a need for action in you

So sure any sane person would have done the same
Was it easy?
Did you lose any sleep?
Time came for you
forced you to follow through

Was it easy?
Did you lose any sleep?
Did you even miss a beat?
What did it take to forget the screams?

When you discovered there was a chance
to stop fate in one small act
to end all the effects and run
to cure the poison from romance

Was it easy?
Did you lose any sleep?
Did you even miss a beat?
How did your eyes light up when you saw what you could gain by pulling off my wings?
