MANIFESTO
I will prove that I exist.
I will do whatever I want artistically.
I will not let myself be swayed by trends.
I will explore every medium that I possibly can.
I will share with the world without being consumed by it.
I will research one writer, artist, movement, topic, etc. per week.
I will push my creative limits constantly conceptually and technically.
I will keep a journal and sketchbook to catalog all inspiration, ideas, and research.
I will allow myself to be as transparent or secretive with my processes as I feel like being.
MOTIVES
I create for myself and myself alone. I am motivated by insatiable curiosity and endless personal ambitions. I want to see what I can accomplish on my own. I hate being bored. I want to explore my mind in tangible ways and see my ideas enter reality. I cope with my world and the experiences I have in it this way. I prefer to solve my problems directly and through my own devices rather than complaining about them to others and seeking outside help. I enjoy relying on myself, proving myself to myself, and making myself stronger. I want to be the best at what I do. Is perfection possible? No, but there is merit in the effort. If I can be better, I want to be.
INTENTIONS
Being understood by an audience is of little importance to me. People will project their own experiences onto my creations as they indulge in them, thus inevitably distorting the original concept of the work and while I accept this, I do not have to care about it. No one has the power to critique or validate my work but me. I create because I am free to do so and I enjoy it, so my purity of expression will not be sullied by any amount of attention. I do not allow even the idea of outside attention to pervert my creative processes, presentation, or subject matter.
While my tone, aesthetics, and motifs rule in my domain, they do not rule out collaboration.
I only work with those I like and respect both as individuals and as artists.
